  • 60g butter, melted










  • 2/3 cup milk










  • 2 tsp vanilla extract










  • 1 1/4 cups self-raising flour










  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar










  • 100g dark chocolate, melted, cooled, plus extra to serve










  • 200g packet snow drops, plus extra chopped to serve (see notes)










  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts










  • 1/4 cup Dutch-processed cocoa










  • 1 1/4 cups boiling water










  • Maraschino cherries (optional), to serve









  • Select all ingredients










4 Method Steps






  • Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan-forced. Grease a 2-litre (8-cup-capacity) baking dish (see notes).





  • Combine butter, milk, vanilla, flour, 3/4 cup sugar, chocolate and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Spread into prepared dish. Push snow drops into batter. Sprinkle with 1/2 the walnuts.

  • Place cocoa, boiling water and remaining sugar in a large jug. Whisk until sugar has dissolved. Pour mixture over the back of a large metal spoon over pudding. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until top is just firm (pudding should still wobble slightly in the centre). Stand for 10 minutes.





  • Top pudding with remaining walnuts, extra chopped snow drops, maraschino cherries (if using) and drizzle with extra melted chocolate. Serve.
